Industrial Animal Agriculture is at the Heart of our Environmental Crisis.
The meat and dairy industries currently occupy over half of the world’s land resources, use the majority of our freshwater, and are responsible for more greenhouse gas emissions than the entire transportation sector.
If that wasn’t bad enough, these industries also cause air and water pollution, land degradation, deforestation, and are pushing several species to the brink of extinction.
And the worst part is, these industries are failing to feed the world – one in eight people across the world still go to bed hungry every night.
If every person in the U.S. ate plant-based, we could cut our food-related carbon footprint in half, save around 200,000 gallons of water each, and redirect enough grain from the livestock system to feed roughly two billion people – in just one year.
